Who should attend

Built for the people at the bedside

Trainees and practising clinicians in critical care, cardiology, emergency medicine, anaesthesiology and internal medicine, alongside the transport crews, nurses and advanced practice providers who move these patients. Sessions run case-first: you see the physiology, then you work the device.

02

VV ECMO

Refractory hypoxaemia, recirculation, transport of the ECMO patient.

03

Impella

Device selection, placement signals and troubleshooting at the bedside.

04

LVAD

The LVAD patient who arrives in shock, and what to do in the first hour.

05

Resuscitative TEE

POCUS TEE views, probe handling and its evolving ICU applications.

06

Hemodynamics

A structured approach to advanced shock physiology and pressors.

07

PE Therapies

Obstructive shock, catheter-directed options and when to escalate.

08

PH / RV Failure

Recognising the failing right ventricle before it takes the patient.

Within the symposium, or on its own

MCS Academy

The Academy is the hands-on day inside Lone Star Resuscitation, and it also runs as a standalone course for clinicians who want the mechanical circulatory support training without the full symposium. Same faculty, same workstations, same CME.

As part of the symposium

Saturday 24 July, included in the two-day registration with a guaranteed station slot.

As a standalone course

Run separately through the year for departments and training programmes. Dates announced as they are set.
